Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pulse ("Pulse," "we," "us," or "our") collects,
uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Pulse mobile application and
related services (the "Service"). Pulse is operated by Tempo Engineering
LLC, a company registered in Virginia, United States. By using the Service,
you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, we create an account
identified by your authentication provider (via Firebase Authentication),
including your email address and a unique user ID.
- Wearable health data. When you connect a supported provider
(currently Oura, Whoop, or Fitbit / Google Health), we retrieve health metrics needed to show daily
insights. This may include sleep duration, sleep score, recovery/readiness
score, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen (SpO₂), and
related summary metrics.
- Group data. Groups you create or join, and your membership in
them.
- Provider connection tokens. To sync your data, we store the
access and refresh tokens issued by your wearable provider. These tokens are
held only on our secure server-side backend and are never made available to the
mobile app or to other users.
2. How we collect it
Health data is retrieved only after you explicitly connect a provider through that
provider's secure OAuth consent screen. You choose which provider to connect, and
you can disconnect at any time from within the app.
3. How we use your information
- To compute and display your daily sleep and recovery insights.
- To share those daily insights with members of the groups you choose to join.
- To operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
- To communicate with you about the Service when necessary.
We do not sell your personal information or health data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. How your information is shared
- With your groups. Your daily insights are visible to members of
the private groups you join. You control which groups you belong to.
- Service providers. We use Google Firebase (Google Cloud) for
authentication, database, and hosting. Your data is processed on this
infrastructure.
- Wearable providers. Oura, Whoop, and Fitbit (via Google Health) are the sources of your
health data; their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy
policies.
- Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to
protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the Service.
5. Data storage and security
Data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure and encrypted in transit. Provider
access and refresh tokens are restricted to our backend systems and are never
exposed to client applications. We apply access rules so that group data is only
readable by members of that group.
6. Data retention
Pulse is designed to show your most recent daily snapshot rather than a long history.
When you disconnect a provider, we stop syncing new data from it. You may request
deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your choices").
7. Your choices and rights
- Disconnect a provider at any time in the app to stop future syncs.
- Leave a group to stop sharing your insights with its members.
- Request deletion of your account and data by contacting us at
the email below.
8. Health data and no medical advice
Pulse presents wellness information for general and informational purposes only. It
is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Pulse is not a HIPAA-covered entity. Always consult a qualified health professional
regarding your health.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect
information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us
and we will delete it.
10. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you
understand your information may be processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be
reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
